The Town of Dallas operates its own Solid Waste Collection program. We service approximately 1830 residents and businesses. On average we collect 1750 tons of mixed organic and general solid waste (garbage); 260 tons of inorganic household refuse (junk); and 2300 cubic yards of compostable yard waste per year.
We also offer an overnight truck (for a separate fee), wherein one of the Town-owned flatbed trucks is delivered to the customer's address for overnight loading by the customer. The truck is then retrieved by Town personnel the following day for unloading and disposal. The application for this service may be found here. This service is available on a limited first-come first-served basis. The cost for this service is determined based on the actual weight (in tons) of the materials disposed, as well as the labor and truck rental charge for delivery and disposal at the landfill.
The Town does not collect any hazardous or toxic waste. All hazardous waste must be taken to the Gaston County Landfill located at 3155 Philadelphia Church Rd Dallas, NC 28034.

Residential Fee Schedule:
$13.00 per curb-cart, per month
$10.00 per call-in for pick-up of bulk trash/refuse placed outside of curb-cart.
$1.00 per bag/$22.00 per box of 25. For "bagged" trash outside of curb-cart.
Commercial Fee Schedule:
$15.00 per curb cart, per month
*The Town provides free bulk pick-up for residential households during the months of May and September
New Cart Fee:
$50.00 non-refundable for new homes (paid at time of permit)
Landlord/Tenant Fee to remove Trash:
$50.00 for a regular pickup truck load
$100.00 for a flatbed less than 2 tons
Cost + 15% for a flatbed over 2 tons or when a backhoe is needed.
